Our next ambassador is the lovely @mrsd_homeandhappiness, find out a bit more about her below...
When did you first start your home Instagram account?
I started my Instagram account back in Jan 2020, wanting first of all to learn more about social media marketing – I work in the marketing team at Microsoft and this was an area I really wanted to dig deep into and learn more! Given my passion for interiors I thought why not combine the two!
How long have you been a fan of Shabby.?
Almost since the day I started it was one of the first interior home shops I came across and purchased from with a ginger jar and diffuser I love their range and affordable prices. I’ve purchased many pieces which I still love today.
What is your favourite room in your home?
Ooh goodness I love every room! My favourite has to be my dressing room – I’ve always wanted one and convinced my husband to get rid of our games room and have a huge dressing room. I can now see all my clothes and accessories together, and it doesn’t feel like a jumble sale which it once was when everything was crammed into a wardrobe and chest of drawers!
What item from Shabby. could you not live without?
My favourite is the classic Patterned Ginger Jar it's so versatile and can be styled in so many ways. Its the perfect accessory to move around the home and very easy to give a different look and feel with just simple changes of swapping in different flowers!
What is it that you love about working with Shabby.?
I love the shabby team, fun, always inspiring with new product ranges and easy to communicate and work with. They are so super efficient and feel like they extended family!
Do you have any upcoming decorating plans?
When do we not have decorating plans! There is always a project either in the making, in planning or in thinking! Currently we are in the middle of changing our staircase and hallway which is super exciting so keep your eyes peeled! I have also spotted a beautiful console table at Shabby. which would be the perfect addition!
Do you often change up your home decor?
Yes I like a fresh change but it doesn’t need to cost the earth. A few simple changes with a lick of paint or some fresh new cushion covers and accessories are enough to give a room a new feel and style through the seasons. My best advice is to invest in a few versatile pieces that you can use in every room and through out the year.
What inspired you to start renovating your home?
We moved house pretty quickly 3 years ago to a new build that was simply a blank canvas to do what we want with. Think magnolia walls everywhere! When the pandemic set in and I was permanently working from home and still am now, I couldn’t bear it, so we got to work quickly with my Pinterest mood boards that I have built over time and whipped around decorating as many rooms as we could.
Do you have any top tips to give to any other home décor fans?
Yes – there is so much inspo and beautiful homes out there take some time to look and research what kind of style you like. Think about each room in your home and its purpose to help visualise colours and style. Create mood boards with colours, accessories, furniture and see how it all comes and fits together – you may have your eye on an amazing piece of furniture – but putting it against your chosen wallpaper and carpet colour it may not work. Mood boards are so quick and easy to create and swap images in and out to bring a room visual together. Shabby. has amazing home decor pieces for your home, so I defiantly recommend to go and take a look!
